She shakily stood up on four legs and examined the area around herself. It was dark, but it was dry. straw lay in small piles on the stone floor. When she tried to walk, she found that her legs were chained to the floor. She sat down on the floor and thought. Del... what happened to Del? maybe she's alive... I hope she's alive... she might have been captured... She paused. *Del? can you hear me?! can anyone hear me?* No response. She sank into herself and tried, desperatly, to contact someone. Martinus jumped. Great. I'd better up the security. Who knows who will come... I hope she stops soon... Humans have a limited power when it come to telepathy, even Kiminsu's. Range, strength, who can hear you, who you can hear. Some humans don't even know how to use their power. Most don't even believe in it anymore. It's faded away, like most majik has. Humans forget. Easily. Maybe people couldn't handle it; maybe they didn't understand it, and ignored it. Humans get scared of things they can't understand. Stupid, yes, but true. D'jinea, on the other hand... Dimitria looked up. She was sitting back in a wooden chair, thinking. A round table stood in front of her. She was in the kitchen. If she had stood up and walked foreward, she would have arrived in the living room. To the left, the bedroom. Her mind had been wandering, drifting... and she had heard something. what was that? She looked around. Jamie was in the other room, reading a book Dimitria had lent her, something about telekenisis and telepaths. Dimitria had found it odd that she found the book interesting, but nothing more than odd. Nobody else was in the house. help... There it was again. "Who is it?" Dimitria murmered to herself, half expecting an answer. It was female, she knew that. It wasn't Delphine -- she couldn't send a telepathic message very far, and she was definitely too far away. But... still, it seemed familiar... "Comet!" Comet went with Delphine... if Comet was in trouble, that could only mean... "Delphine..." Dimitria left Jamie with Bunnie. Bunnie didn't ask; she figured that Dimitria had decided that she wanted to go after Delphine, too. Jared had gone, and she heard Knuckles had gone, too. The only reason Tails had stayed was that he wanted to help Bunnie. Bunnie had smiled when he told her that; the kid was deffinitly growing up. After Dimitria left, Bunnie went outside and looked around. With a sigh she started her rounds; Knothole was different. Much different. They hadn't even organized an attack since Sally had... Bunnie stopped herself before she went any further. She had no time to think of that. She had a village to take care of. She waved to Devon, who was on look-out duty, as she walked by. He waved back, then leaned back in his chair. "Devon?" He looked up at Lisa. She brushed her blonde hair out of her face and said, "Tails is having a campfire party tonight, you know, to boost people's spirits. Do you want to, like, you know, come with me?" Devon sighed. "I have a lot of work to do, I don't think I can make it." "O, oh... okay. That's okay. I'll... bye." Lisa climbed down to the ground, then ran to the ring pool. She always found it so peaceful there. She sat down on a log and tried not to cry. Dimitria took a few moments to prepare herself, then teleported as close to the source of the message as she could. As it was, she found herself in the middle of a dense forest. Comet's telepathic cry was much stronger here. Before it had been a faint help. Now it was a mind shattering HELP!, leaving Dimitria with a headache. She trudged through the undergrowth, being careful not to snag her cloak on the hundreds of branches trying to stop her. She imagined hundreds of trees, grabbing at her with their claws made of branches, trying to stop her, to kill her... stop it! She tried to convince herself that she was imagining things, but it left her uneasy. Once she came across a young strawberry-blonde haired girl, wearing a blue denim jacket and jeans, helping a dark-blonde haired boy, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, out of a river. She thought about stopping to help, but she had her own problems, and they seemed to be okay, so she pressed on. Dimitria saw the highest tip the tall, dark castle before she saw anything else. She pushed aside some branches, and saw the rest of it. She sucked in air and stood up straight. She knew this castle very, very well. She'd find Comet soon enough. Most probably in the detention center. Sneaking past the guards was simple enough. A small diversion and she was quickly in. The guards had never been particularly bright. The hard part would be finding Comet and getting the two of them out alive. She headed for the stairs. After an extensive, two hour search, Dimitria had not found Comet. She was being held somwewhere else in the castle, but Dimitria couldn't think of where. The plea's for help had long stopped. It had been suddenly silent, and Dimitria had almost cried out in shock. She was also scared for Comet. She might not be alive anymore. Dimitria hid in a small room and though of the other places in the castle that Comet would be held. "I thought I saw someone over here..." Dimitria held her breath. "You're imagining things. Hurry up, our shift is over." "Don't you think we should check it out first?" "Let the next shift worry about it. C'mon, there won't be any seats left if you don't quit beaing stupid." "You're the one..." she heard a sigh. "Fine. I probably WAS imagining it." Footsteps leading away. Dimitria gave a sigh of relief, the thought of something. A sly grin came over her face. "Martinus, you little weasel... I know where you stuck her." She got up and headed for the basement. She had just started searching when she came upon a large, open room. The stone walls were exceptionally clean, instead of having the layers of grunge that was a part of all the other walls. The room was completely empty. "I remember this... uh oh." Dimitria turned to leave. The last place she needed to be was HERE. Dimitria went to push the door open, but it was locked. She swallowed. As she turned around to find another door, a very familiar voice said, "Well, this is not what I was expecting." She jumped and turned all the way around. "Martinus." "Hello Dimitria. I haven't seen you in years." To be continued... End of Part 6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Back
