The wait is finally over. Thanks to my proofreaders over at the Discord Server, I’m able to have the Version 1.0 of this book released on time! About the Story Ever since the Satanic Panic of the 1980s, a dark chapter of Dungeons & Dragons and a black eye on Chrisitianity, there was a gap between the two that I feel needs to be bridged. As it has been done with rock and roll, comics, video games, and other media, it is posible for Role Playing Games to be used for a Chrisitian purpose. In my attempt to build this bridge, I have written a story that combines themes from both areas. Inspired by the Twitch Stream Dice Camera Action, I wrote this fan story where I linked a popular D&D Diety with a Biblical origin, and use this link to create a story inspired by the infamous J. T. Chick track, Dark Dungeons. Unknown to everyone in the Forgotten Realms, with the possibile exception of Elminister and even then I doubt it, the deity known as Lathander the Morninglord has a secret dated before the origin of Toril: Before he was a D&D Deity, he was an Angel of God; in fact, he was the Number Two angel in Heaven until his sole superior fell from heaven. Before he slid into Lucifer’s position, however, he wanted to know why God created the way he did. To help him come to his answer, God allowed him to create his own world. He teamed up with other like-minded celestials and the rest is D&D history. The two realms grew up separately from each other until the Great American Eclipse, thirty years after the original Moral Panic, where someone with a thirty-year grudge found a way to summon a demon from Toril to Earth. To stop this from happening at least, push the demon back the most, Lathander had to return to Earth and his Father. This story is the result, as Lathander befriends a D&D fan from earth who is creating a Christ-centered D&D campaign setting and they become partners in dealing with this creature. After the Story This story is a big chunk of the variant of the Forgotten Realms I use for my campaigns in that setting. Not only does the setting continue the story of the human partner Lathander takes in, but it also is a living and dynamic setting that includes characters and storylines from several Twitch streams, including Acquisitions Incorporated, Dice Camera Action, and Force Grey. I intend to further develop this forked Forgotten Realms as more campaigns and adventures are worked on during my game sessions, be it online or off.
