About the Novel

I have a muse. A nine-tailed kitsune. I don't know where he got in my head, but he's there, playing the role of Dexter's famous 'Dark Passenger.' Only with me he's making me create stories and comics instead of chopping people up. It gave me a choice between the pencil and the knife, no lie. I chose the path that won't put me in jail too soon.





Little is known of eric's past outside of a heart to heart in the latter parts of the beginning: He lost his left arm in an interracial altercation with an armed assailant. Said assailant's lawyer dug into Eric's family tree and found a family history deep in the Pro-Slavery South; a history eric himself wasn't aware of. The backlash that placed Eric on trial lead him into a catatonic state until King Acorn attached a replacement robotic arm and injected a serum that turned him into an humanoid gray wolf--bet you didn't see that twist coming did you? The robotic left arm has enhanced strength and the infamous 'Data Spear' (a tethered universal connector to all the computers in the world, and it also serves as a rather nasty weapon. Eric can still do the 'Scorpion Stick and Yank a la Mortal Kombat "COME HERE!") but is originally used to relay a message to the King's daughter, Sarah. After seeing his worth in both technology and being a warrior, Sarah welcomes Eric in her court, knighting him at the end.

Eric doesn't even attempt to blend into the other Monarchs--as well as the Royal Guard who is traditionally loyal to the king as well as high class--which to some, royalty his presence is treated from mute tolerance to expressed chafing. Eric is common folk and he doesn't hide it, and prefers the company of the common folk. This gives him the appeal of the masses, making him "the every man's royal", and in time his popularity ranks up there with Princess DI. Knowing that the Royal Guard considers him the Omega in their pack, he split off into his own at first but then gather like minded furries of many species to make a ragtag pack with him as the Alpha, including an orphan for his squire. Add a progressing relationship Princess Sarah--where she reveals a fantasy and bends the knee to him, calling him her Master--and the kingdom expects Eric to become the next King In spite of the leader of the royal guard. This will really give him a warm fuzzy when he gets to put this upstart in his place once his father is revealed.

After this crash landing Eric is found--beaten in body and spirit and left to die--by the remaining robots and robians left over from his father's death. They reconstructed his body into a fully nanotech form (which looks like Digit from Las Lindas; resembling a ghost-like angel with a quartz crystal to houses his spark-like soul in) and connected him to collective hive mind. At first his mind was inactive, replaced by the hive mind, but as time progress, his personality appears in piecemeal fashion as he rebuilds his life along with everyone else. When Eric and Sarah reunite, after an emotional scene and an embrace, a quantum leap in his nanotech body is reached, and his original body is recreated, with a flesh left arm.

Eric's personality is not too different from his fanfic origins although he is de-gary stu-ed. Eric is a fully grown young man from the deep woods of Georgia, around where they made the film _Deliverance_. In his own words, he comes from "Th' most backwoods illiterate inbred place y'l evah seen . . . ah see ah have all my fingers, toes, an' I.Q. points, and ah call it proof that dere _is_ a God." Eric is unrepentingly Redneck with the accent cranked to 10 and a Rebel Yell that robots learn to _fear_. (Considering that Quentin Tarantino rules are enforced, this fear is learned very quickly.) While he does make efforts to melt into mobius society there is no escaping his blue collar nature. During the time when Adam is part of the hive-mind, his personality is deactivated; instead of a monotone, his voice is a soft and low without any accent. He acts note like a robot but more like what he'd call 'Too Stoned to Fish,' and given what he's feeling at that time the assessment may not be too far off.



Character Sheet

Story goal: To be remembered as a Good Guy rather than a descendant of salve owners-son of the bad guy; making Mobius a free and peaceful world is a surefire way to achieving this goal. 

Background: Orphaned as a child in Georgia. He didn't know about his family history until his arm was shot off in an armed assault; the defending lawyer found that his ancestors were slave owners. The harping on this topic so tramatized Eric that he fell into a catatonic stupor. 

Strength: His ability to connect with the common people unlike any other noble; in time they consider this knight as one of them.
