"I wish I didn't have to read my fan mail, but if I don't do it, who will?" Sonic asked himself. Sonic sighed deeply and sorted through the "fan mail". He put them into two colums, interesting and not interesting.
"Ssssonicc...we neeeed your helppp here on the floating islanddd," Knuckles gasped into his portable communications watch, given to him by Sonic, the last time he helped them. "Sssonic, do you read me?"
" Loud and clear," Sonic said into his communications watch. Great!!! He thought, now I get some real action!! "Whats the problem, Knuckles?"
"Robotnik has destroyed half of the city up here! Meet me here in an hour and we can think of a plan to get rid of robotnik."
"O.K. I'll meet ya there in an hour! Sonic out" Sonic smiled as he clicked off his watch. Now I have a reason to get away from all this fan-mail!!! Sonic frowned. It will be here when I get back, he thought unhappliy....Unless I get someone to do it for me.
"Hi Sonic." Sally said as she walked into the room. She was sweating, and went to the fridge to get something to drink. She then noticed something odd about Sonic, he was smiling. Hmmm Sonic hates to sort through his fan mail. I wonder why he's so happy.
"Hi Sal. Did you have a good time?"
"Yep. My side won!!!" Sally immediately regretted saying that. She knew that Sonic was upset that he couldn't go outside, and play Volley-Ball. "Uh, why are YOU so happy Sonic? I thought you hated reading fan-mail." Sally said, trying to change the subject.
"I get to save Knuckles, go to the floating island and I'm going to get someone to sort through all of this fan-mail while I'm gone!"
"Can I sort it Sonic? You know how much I love to sort through fan-mail...even if it isn't mine!" Sally said. She was reluctant to help out Sonic because she wanted to teach him how to do this stuff on his own, but she just couldn't resist this offer.
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Thank-you Sonic!! Have a good time saving the floating island!!"
"I have twenty-five minutes left. How-a-bout we play some Volley-Ball?!!"
"Sounds good to me!!!"
They ran outside to play Volley-Ball with Tails, and Bunnie.
"Ha ha ha! We won again Sally-girl!!" Bunnie said to her Volley-Ball teammate, Princess Sally, as she bounced the Volley-Ball with her robotic hand.
"Come on Tails, lets go race!" Sonic said to his Volley-Ball Teammate, Tails.
"ALRIGHT!!!" Tails barked with joy.
"Sonic, Its been twenty-five minutes. You better speed." Sally told Sonic. I knew he would forget. Its a good thing I keep track of time! Sally thought to herself.
"Ahhhh come on, Sal. I was just about to race Tails. I'll leave right after this race" Sonic said.
"Yeah Aunt Sally,right after this race."
"Well...Alright." She just couldn't turn down Tails. "But just to that tree and back.",Sally said and pointed to the big tree.
"Alright." Sonic said, even though the tree was only about a hundred yards away.
"Thanks Aunt Sally!!"
Sonic and Tails began the race. Sonic gave Tails a head start, then he jogged, to give Tails a fair chance of winning. Tails ran his hardest and was just yards ahead of Sonic. Tails crossed the finish line, then Sonic sped up to normal speed, and came in right behind Tails.
"Wow! That sure was close, Sonic!" Tails said as he and Sonic sat down on the grass. Tails took a minute to catch his breath. I wonder where Sonic is going after this. Since I'm faster than him, he may need my help!
"Yep, that sure was, little bro!" Sonic said.
"Hey Sonic?"
"Yeah?"
"Where do you have to go after this?"
"To the Floating island, to save Knuckles from robuttnik."
"Can I come?" Tails asked Sonic with the cutest voice.
"NO!" Sonic said meanly. He realized that he might have hurt the little guys feelings, so he softened his voice. "It's too dangerous. Even for me."
"Alright." Tails said. He thought to himself, I'll follow him to the Floating island.
"Bye Sonic! Have a good time!" Tails called to Sonic as Sonic ZOOMED off.
"I forgot the Bip Plane. Now, how will I get up there.
Tails was just above Sonic listening to what Sonic was saying. Tails had flown over to the floating island so he had arrived just a little after Sonic. Tails was tired from flying and decided to land and tell Sonic the solution to his "Bip Plane" problem.
"Hi Sonic!" Tails called down to Sonic as he landed.
"TAILS!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!!!!!" Sonic practically screamed at the tiny fox.
"You said this was a dangerous m-m-mission, so I came along to help you. Besides, the only way for you to get up, is for me to fly you up there." Tails squeaked, trying to hold back his tears..
"Well, yeah I guess you're right." Sonic said, trying to soften up his tone, because he noticed Tails was going to start crying.
"I know I'm right!"
"Come on then, little bro. What are we waiting for?! "
Tails picked up Sonic and flew up to the Floating island.
"I think fencing is the only thing you're good at, Antoine!" Sally said as she put her sword in its sheath and sat down on the fluffy mat.
"Yez, I am ze very best at ze fencing....HEY!" Antoine said as he realized what Sally had said.
He then took Sally's hand in his "Sally, I have loved you for so long.....will you m-m-marry me?"
Sally smiled but took her hand away from Antoine.
"Please try to understand Antoine. Sonic and I are going out. " Sally didn't want to hurt Antoine's feelings, but if she accepted Antoine, that would be unloyal to Sonic. After all, Sonic would never cheat on me! "I better get to work on Sonic's fan-mail now."
"You do that." Antoine said. Why does she turn me down? Sonic isn't always loyal to her. I'm sure he is seeing someone else besides Sally. She must like Sonic for the two things I don't have......speed and leadership. Hmmmm. I must seek advice about this.
Sally walked into the crowded room filled not with people, but with fan-mail.
"I'll start with something interesting." Sally told herself as she grabbed a white envelope, and a small pink envelope sealed with a red heart from Sonic's *interesting* pile of fan-mail. Sally opened the white one first.
YO SONIC, YOU ARE MY FAVORITE BLUE HEDGEHOG.... "The only blue hedgehog" Sally said to herself. .... AND I READ ALL OF YOUR COMICS, WATCH ALL OF YOU'RE CARTOON SHOWS, AND EVEN JOINED A FEW SONIC CLUBS!! LOVE-YA BUNCHES, CELSEY. A small picture fell out.
"Hmmm that was interesting. No wonder why Sonic hates to read his fan-mail!!" Sally said as she picked up the the small pink envelope, with the red heart that keep it sealed. Sally carefully peeled off the red heart and opened up the letter. Outside, Antoine watched, hoping Sally would change her mind about him. Sally undid the tight fold in the letter and then read it.
DEAR SONIC, HELLO AGAIN!!! I LOVE YOU SONIC. I'VE JOINED EVERY SINGLE SONIC FAN CLUB THERE IS,I ALSO HAVE EVERY SINGLE ITEM ABOUT YOU, AND THE ONLY THING I DON'T HAVE IS YOU! IF YOU LOVE ME TOO {AND I HOPE YOU DO} MEET ME AGAIN AT THE RIVERBEND ON THE FLOATING ISLAND IN FIVE DAYS. TELL NO ONE OF THIS LETTER. IT WILL BE OUR SECRET!!! FROM AMY ROSE WITH LOVE.
A picture fell out of this one too, but Sally was too upset to pick it up. Antoine noticed that Sally was crying so he went inside to comfort her.
"What iz wrong, my princez?" Antoine asked Sally.
"Sonic told me he had to go to the floating island to save Knuckles. He looked too happy. I thought it was because he wouldn't have to read his fan-mail. But this letter says it all! He went to the Floating island to see Amy Rose!! " Sally said as she burst into tears.
"You may not have Sonic now, but you still have me. After all you have to get on with your life." Antoine said. "Yeah, I guess you're right." Sally said, calming down.
"Want to go on a date?" Antoine asked.
"Sure, but not tonight, I mean, I want to....you know, recover from this."
"I understand. How about tommorow night?"
"O.K."
Antoine embraced Sally. Sally pulled away.
"Not yet." Sally kissed Antoine on the check. She then looked outside. It was dark out. Probably about 9:30. "My goodness, 'Twain. Its about 9:30 !" She paused, trying to think of a nicer way of saying goodbye. "I love you Antoine. Sleep well. Goodnight." Sally said. Then she kissed Antoine on the check again, showed him to the door and said goodnight again.
"Goodnight, my princez, I love you too." Antoine said, too stunned at the fact that Sally had said *I love you*. Perhaps I was second in her heart after all, he thought merrily to himself!
Sally closed the door and watched from the window as Antoine walked off happily. She smiled and got a glass of water, then she went to bed, thinking of Antoine.
"Robotnik has really done it this time!!!" Sonic said as he felt his angrer rising.
"SONIC!!!!" Yelled someone that seemed to come from the other side of the city.
Sonic got ready to ZOOM towards the voice that needed help.
"Grab on, Little Bro!" Sonic told Tails.
"Wait Sonic! It could be a trap!" Tails told Sonic, refusing to grab onto Sonic.
"Maybe you're right......but what if you're wrong?!!!"
"SONNNNICCCC!! HELP!!!" screamed the voice.
Sonic didn't need a second invitation. He grabbed onto Tails shoulder and ZOOMED towards the location where the voice was coming from.
In front of them was Knuckles!! He was leaning up against a large rock.
His eyes were closed, and Sonic knew he was the one who had called for help. Sonic was going to blame Tails for slowing him down, but Tails was just trying to help. After all, it COULD have been a trick! Tails nudged Knuckles, and Knuckles opened his eyes.
"What happened?" Sonic asked Knuckles.
"Robotnik shot me with some sort of drug and I fell asleep!" Knuckles exclaimed. "Before I fell asleep, however I saw him go thataway. Knuckles pointed behind him. He then tried to stand up.
"Don't get up yet Knuckles. Tails, look after Knuckles while I go look for Robotnik".
"But..."Tails and Knuckles said at about the same time.
"You gotta stay here. Besides, if I chase Robuttnik back here, then I'll need someone to help me chase after him or to let me know which way he went or....."Sonic said.
"We understand." Tails said.
Bunnie sat up in bed. "Rotor? Where are ya, Sugah-Rus?" Bunnie and Rotor had been going together for a year in a half now. You couldn't find Rotor without finding Bunnie with him!
"I'm right here Bunnie." Rotor said, he came in with a tray of bacon and eggs.
"How sweet, Sugah-rus! Breakfast in bed!" Bunnie exclaimed as Rotor set down the tray in Bunnies lap and sat down beside her. Bunnie embraced Rotor then ate breakfast.
DING-DONG-DING-DONG!!! The doorbell sounded. Bunnie started to get up.
"Wait Bunnie, I'll get the door."
"Oh all right, sugah."
"Hello?" Rotor asked as he opened the door. In front of him stood Princess Sally. She wore the usual blue vest,purple top,with blue jeans, and black shoes. Rotor smiled.
"Hi Rotor." Sally said.
"Hi"
"Who's at the door sugah-rus?" Bunnie asked.
"Sally" Rotor told her.
"Let her in"
"o.k. UM. Please come in Sally."
"Thank-you, Rotor." Sally walked inside, sat down and told Bunie and Rotor about what Sonic had done and what Antoine had done.
"Sally-girl. You done right." Bunnie said to Sally after Sally finished telling them everything. "Sonic shouldn't have done what he did. Perhaps you and Antoine were meant to be after all! It was me an Rotors destiny to be together!" Rotor smiled at Bunnie with her last comment and kissed Bunnie on the check.
"Besides, Antoine is a prince. I checked it out on his blood test.I think you two should get married." Rotor pointed out. He was now blushing because he had never really kissed Bunnie in public before.
"Antoines a prince?! "Sally questioned. She knew he was royal guard, but she didn't know he was a prince!
"Yep. He's a prince. The only thing I don't know is what he's a prince of !!!" Rotor exclaimed.
"Does Antoine know?" Sally asked.
"Nope. Were going to tell him today."Rotor and Bunnie said.
"Amy Rose! Whats wrong?!" Sonic asked her.
"SONIC?"Amy Rose looked up and saw Sonic sitting beside her! He must really love me since he came all this way to find me! "Did you read my letter I sent you?"
"What letter?"Sonic asked, now becoming confused.
"The letter I sent you, telling you to meet me here if you loved me."
"I love someone else. You are my favorite pen-pal though. Is that why you are here? For me?"
"Sure is! Can I have your autograph?!"
"Yeah as soon as I find Robotnik and teach him a lesson for what he did to the floating island."
"You mean ROBUTTNIK !" Amy Rose said, giggling.
"Yeah! ROBUTTNIK !"Sonic laughed. "Ya know, I think I know someone who would like to meet someone like you."
"A friend of yours?"
"Yes, and I know you'll like him. It's Tails! "
"WOW! Really?!"
"Really! I"ll take you to him now. Don't tell him what I told you though...promise?"
"I promise."
Sonic took Amy Roses hand and ZOOMED back to where Tails and Knuckles were.
"You know, I've never been to Antoine's house before!" Sally said, intrigued by Antoine's door-bell.
"I know what ya mean, Sally girl." Bunnie told Sally.
"Hello?"Antoine asked as he opened the door. He didn't get visitors that often. "Sally, my princez!" Antoine smiled. Perhaps this love between me and ze Sally iz for ze real! Antoine took her hand in his.
Bunnie put her arm around Rotor.
"Guess what 'Twain?"Sally told Antoine.
"What?!" Antoine asked excititly
"You are a prince!!"
"I am ze prince? Of what?"
"I don't know."
"Isn't it great?" Bunnie chimed in.
"Oh yez, this iz ze most wonderful!" Antoine said,smiling. "Lets go tell Tails!!"
"UH, where is Tails?"Bunnie, Rotor and Sally asked Antoine.
"How should I ze know?"Antoine barked.
"He was with Sonic last.....he might have took him with him!" Sally said.
"Is that Tails?" Amy Rose whispered Sonic as she pointed to Tails.
"Yeah, thats him."Sonic whispered back.
"Hi Sonic! Who's your friend?" Tails asked Sonic.
"Yo Sonic! Did ya find that Robotnik, mon?"Knuckles asked in his Jamaican accent.
"Nope, but I found Amy Rose! She's one of my favorite pen-pals that I like to get fan-mail from her! I met her once at a fan-mail covention!!" Sonic exclaimed. "Tails, Knuckles, look after Amy Rose while I go find Robotnik."
"O.K. Sonic!" Knuckles said.
Sonic ZOOMED through the floating island trying to find any thing suspicus that would lead to the whereabouts of Dr. Ivo Robotnik! Sonic then found what he was looking for.......................... *A SCRAP OF METAL !!!* Hmmmmm Robo-idiot can't be far! Sonic followed the trail of metal. He saw Robotnik and Snively talking.
"This is it Snively! I'll get into the robo-kart, you push the button, jump into the robo-kart with me, we fly up into air and watch as The Floating Island be blown to kingdom come!!!! FAWAHAHAHA!!!!" Robotnik told Snively as he made his way to the R0BO-KART!
"Sir, this plan is O.K. with me, but it sounds a bit dangerous." Snively informed Robotnik.
"Wait right there, Robuttnik!"Sonic said as he jumped out from the shadows.
"Ahhhhh, right on schedule!"Robotnik said. He had been expecting Sonic. "I've been expecting you!"
"You have?" Snively whispered to robotnik.
"SHUT-UP Snively!" Robotnik whispered back. "Sonic! You are just in time to witness The Floating Island blown to kingdom come!! The thing is, I'll be watching from a safe view, you won't!!! FAWAHAHAHAHA!!!! Snively! Press the button and get on my Robo-kart!"
"Right away Sir." Snively said. He looked worried and felt sorry for the hedgehog.
"Don't do it Snively! Hand me the button!" Sonic took a chance, grabbed the button ,and broke it into tiny pieces!
"NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!"Robotnik screamed. He tried to zap Sonic with his ultra fire turbo 3000 ray gun, but missed. Sonic was to fast for him!
"Come on Robuttnik! Lets play follow the leader!" Sonic said. He ZOOMED off knowing that Robotnik would follow. I know where theres a cliff. If i can just get Robotnik there! Sonic thought to him self.
"Come on Snively! Get on my Robo-kart. If I can't blow up this pitiful island, at least I can blow up the hedgehog!!" Robotnik told Snively.
"Right away,sir." Snively said.
They followed Sonic all the way to the cliff. Sonic's plan worked like clock-work! Sonic ran all the way to the side of the cliff, took a sharp turn , and watched as Robotnik and Snively went over the cliff! It wasn't the end of Robotnik or Snively, but it stopped them from ever wanting to blow up the Floating island again!!!
"I took care of Robotnik guys!!!" Sonic said happily.
"YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALRIGHT" They all replied happily.
"Well Knuckles, I guess this means goodbye for now." Sonic said.
"I guess it does. Thanks a bunch, mon!!! "Knuckles said gratefully.
"Comeon Tails,lets go home." Sonic told Tails. "Bye Amy Rose."
"Bye!" Amy Rose said. I wish I got a better part in this story, she thought to herself.
They all went their seperate ways. Knuckles stayed at the Floating island, Amy Rose went back to her home in the Great Forest, and Sonic and Tails went back to Knot-hole village.
Princess Sally had formed a search party to find Tails. The search party included Antoine, Princess Sally, Bunnie Rabbot,and Rotor.
"Look there he iz, with Sonic!" Antoine said.
"Sonic? Let me get my hands on him!!!!" Sally said. She spotted Sonic, walked briskly over to him and slapped him on the face, leaving a dark handprint. Sonic rubbed his tender face and glared at Sally.
"What the heck has gotten into you girl-friend?" Sonic asked.
"GIRLFRIEND?!!! HOW DARE YOU CALL ME YOUR GIRLFRIEND!" Sally said, now being restrained Rotor and Bunnie.Antoine smiled at Sonic.
"OH! I see. You have a new boyfriend now."Sonic said angrily.
"YEAH. After I found out you already had a girlfriend. AMY ROSE!" Sally said.
"Shes not my girlfriend! She's only 10 years old!!" Sonic said, not realizing that Amy Rose was right behind him.
"Um Sonic, you never gave me your autograph." Amy Rose told Sonic, a single tear went down her face.
"Is that Amy Rose? "Sally asked.
"Yeah."Sonic said. He gave Amy Rose his autograph.
"I found this letter in your fan-mail pile, and it was from Amy Rose, she told you to meet her AGAIN, and......" Sally explained what had happened.
"Yeah I met Amy Rose at a fan covention once and....." Sonic explained what had happened.
They both explained what had happened to them and now understood.
"I'm sorry I slapped you Sonic." Sally started, "I'm going out with Antoine now. He's a prince. Anyway I think we should see other animals."
"I guess so." Sonic said. A tear formed in his eye.
"Comeon my princez." Antoine said, he smiled.
