Forgotten Remembrence

I didn’t believe in destiny
Only in myself
(and you, but i refused to admit it)
We stood strong, side by side
linked forever in this
Never Ending battle

I should have known that was a lie,
But what can I say?
I was naive.
         We were naive.
                 reality was naive
it was our world. We made the best of it

I saw you the other day,
Tried to say hello. you
         looked right through me
no recognition in your eyes
sparkling green, like a gem
     I had never heard of

What was my name?
no answer, just a stutter
Yet I could remember everything
about You.

wearing that cocky attitude
that never goes out of style
even if it did decades ago
I should have known you’d never realize
one of the things I always liked
about you

your story goes on, while mine...
     does it ever end?
even when I found peace, I couldn’t
         embrace it
         why

Stories left
                dangling
How do you tie them
Fingers fumbling

maybe gloves do help
I never thought to ask

Return.
