For nearly all of its life, The Green Hill Zone has been dedicated to one thing, and one thing only - the video games of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Team. Aside from the occasional drawing by Green Gibbon! on the front page, there was a distinct lack of fan works on the site proper. They would sneak in on the message boards, of course, but not the main page.
That wasn’t always the case.
The Meta Green Hill Zone was part of The GHZ from nearly the beginning. Maintained in conjunction with former GHZer Moon, the humble wing of the site housed a number of fanfictions that could not be found anywhere else. Even GG! was not immune to the writing bug, producing not only Sonic fanfiction but stories of the community. However, in 1999, the decision was made to remove the contents of the Meta Green Hill Zone, doubling down on the Sega Sonic focus.
Knowing that there were people who still wanted to read the stories, GG! gave everyone enough time to back up whatever they wanted. Then, the archive quietly disappeared, and was largely forgotten about.
Until now.
It must be noted that a handful of fanfics are missing from this archive. While each page does contain their original introductions written by the authors, the html was lost.
